Butler County Challenger Baseball, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, encourages people with developmental disabilities from age 5 through adulthood to participate in baseball and make new friends in the process. Challenger Baseball was founded in 1988, with its first season beginning in 1989 at Fairfield Waterworks Park. The league originally consisted of four teams with members from Hamilton, West Chester, Fairfield, and Oxford. By 2011, Challenger Baseball consisted of 11 youth teams as well as two adult teams, and by 2014 the league had finished construction on their own complex, which includes two baseball diamonds as well as a concession stand and storage area.

On Saturday, June 4, 2016, Challenger Baseball will host their annual Walk N’ Roll event at the Fairfield High School Track in Fairfield, Ohio. Participants are encouraged to dress up in superhero-themed attire for the walk, which will benefit the Challenger Baseball league and will include a pre-walk Zumba warm up and a live music performance after the event. All participants will receive pizza and water during the event, and participants over the age of 11 will receive a special T-shirt if registered by May 15th, while early registrants between the ages of 4 and 10 will receive a special superhero-themed surprise.
